While going through my RSS feeds, I came across this Gizmodo post about using a miniDV tape case as an iPhone stand. http://tinyurl.com/y9tfop5
While I don’t have an iPhone (I’m a Symbian guy), the post did inspire another use for the old miniDV cases: business card holder/stand.
This is great to throw in your go bag, for conferences. It holds a ton of cards, keeps your cards flat during travel and opens up for desktop display.

I’m a paperless guy for the most part. But I often come across things, like cheatsheets, that I want quick reference to.
I usually print them and keep handy in a binder. Rather than label the binder with the obvious title, I like to have a little fun with it, by creating covers that cause people to do a double-take when they see it on my desk.
Here is my cover for my Web Development cheatsheet book. It is labeled as a “1985 DeLorean Time Machine Operation Manual”.
This ends up getting a smile from those who see it, and insures my binders are always unique.
PDF is attached if you would like to use it.
Do you have any ideas for a good cover?

[UPDATED: 10/13/2009 to include blogs added during Izeafest]
Yesterday, I decided to build a master blogroll of Izeafest speakers and attendees. Rather than do it myself (which I quickly realized would take entirely too long), I crowd-sourced the twitter community to input their own blogs into a Google Docs Spreadsheet. Also, throughout the day today I’ve monitored the #izeafest hashtag and tried to add everyone I came across, who had a blog.
The blogs are titled with twitter usernames. This will make it easy for you to pull up their blogs when they are speaking, or when you see them on the twitter stream.
I’m sure I’ve missed people, and I apologize. During the event, I will be adding blogs to it as I encounter names and twitter ids. You can help out by adding yourself (or others), so that it is include in the next version, which I’ll publish after Izeafest.

[UPDATED: 10/13/2009 to include blogs added during Izeafest]
What do I do with it?
An OPML file is a specially formatted XML file designed for outlining data. Nowadays, it is most commonly used for import/export of blogrolls from RSS aggregators.
Using this file you can instantly subscribe to all of the blogs on it, saving tons of time. If you don’t know how to import the OPML file into your Google Reader, then just check out Google’s help.
Are you on it? [UPDATED]
Don’t see yourself? Click here to add yourself to the “post Izeafest version”
Thanks to everyone who added to the list and RT’d my annoyingly repetitive tweets. Also, remember to keep adding during the event to be included in version 2 or the blogroll.

If you are not using one of the social bookmarking sites by now, please come out from under that rock. For those that have embraced it, here is an easy and neat trick. When you are browsing the net for the lastest and greatest widget to get, tag the pages with the word “WISHLIST”. Be it Amazon, Ebay, Fairvilla, etc, it doesn’t matter. Del.icio.us enables you to have one master Wishlist. Your friends and family can then quickly access your Christmas/Birthday/Graduation/whatever list, whenever.
Just remember to remove the items you do actually get!
Take a look at my WishList (Some of you guys might have to pool your money, to get the sailboat and piano for me)
If you are not using del.icio.us (or something simular)…wake up. You will quickly learn that there is much more to the Internet than MySpace and Porn.
